International Festival: Saturday Sermons at Fruit and Flower Deli

Through out 2008 International Festival will give a sermon every Saturday at Fruit and Flower Delii, at 53 Stanton St. in New York City.

The Oracle expressed: - "At some point someone will speak."

International Festival understood the utterance literally and decided to organize an educational frame for the gallery situated on Lower East Side, Manhattan.

The format Sermon might seem odd, but due to that the gallery is organized through a different hierarchy it seemed obvious to also elaborate on a different kind of knowledge passing or even production. Therefor the format came to to take the shape of an approximately 12 minutes long speech delivered in the gallery each Saturday at 3 p.m.

For each Sermon the oracle offers a theme, term or atmosphere due which the speaker from International Festival elaborates. The speeches are delivered over a prepared score but they are not written. The Saturday Sermon is strictly and oral exchange.

The Sermons are as far as possible given on location in the Fruit and Flower Deli but when International Festival is out of town they will be delivered on video, send from any location in the world in time to presented at the Fruit and Flower Deli at 3 p.m local time.

The Sermons are recorded through a simple video device and stored in the gallery. The Sermons are available for viewing but copies can not leave the gallery until the 52nd occasion, at the end of November 2008.

There after the Sermons will be collected in a DVD-box made available in a limited edition.
